Founder and CEO

Founder and CEO of Parametric, a company that designs restaurant and consumer facing technologies. Our flagship product is the pay-at-table tablet, CheckMate. Parametric focuses on creating technologies that leverage pre-existing platforms to create unprecedented experiences for users and provides data and analytics that streamline operations for customers. As CEO I am in charge of vision, strategic planning, fundraising, and day to day operations management. I was also the lead designer on the inital version of the CheckMate device and as a trained engineer have been instrumental in technical development.

SYNTHES    —    West Chester, PA   Summer 2010

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER INTERN

Summer Intern in the Spine Surgeon Response Group at Synthes, a leading global medical devices company, working directly with orthopedic and neurosurgeons to design custom implants and instruments. Lead designer on two independent projects: one was a multi-part cervical spine instrument set and the second was a single plastic piece for retaining screws with stripped heads. Starting with the surgeons’ goals for the devices, I designed and fabricated functional prototypes that would later be validated using cadavers in a lab. I gained working knowledge about production costs, design for manufacturability and product development in a time restricted environment.

TEACHING ASSISTANT AND CURRICULUM DEVELOPER

Teaching Assistant responsible for six Mechanical Engineering courses over the past two years (101,150,201,247,501). I helped to plan and redesign the curriculum for the mandatory Mechanical Engineering lab course, 247, and worked to redesign an advanced upper level CAD/ CAM class, 501. My responsibilities include managing the 3D printer in the lab and teaching students how to use the software. I am also responsible for building apparatuses to be used in the lab courses, using CAD and various manufacturing techniques, including CNC turning and milling, to design and fabricate them. I also give lectures on visual design and recently on introductions to geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

WEISS TECH HOUSE    –    Philadelphia, PA   2008-2010

LAB MANAGER

Lab Manager at the Weiss Tech House, a center for innovation and entrepreneurship at Penn. I managed the mechanical and presentation lab spaces with a team of student employees. I wrote the guidelines and policies for use of the spaces and was responsible for ensuring that all labs were clean and workable. I also designed the lab safety training which is still in use today.
